Customer service boost as new animal feed distribution centre opens for business

Customers of animal feed manufacturer I’Anson Brothers Limited will benefit from more convenient collections after the firm opened a new 25,000 sq ft distribution centre at Melmerby, near Ripon.

Situated less than a mile from Junction 50 of the A1M, the facility at the new Potter Group A1M50 Industrial and Distribution Park will provide a convenient collection point for customers from around Yorkshire and the UK, delivering operational efficiencies and improving customer service at this site as well as I’Anson’s home factory in Masham.

The centre will be run by two members of staff and enable I’Anson to distribute goods from Melmerby as well as from Masham.

As the first tenant of the A1M50 Industrial and Distribution Park, I’Anson recently moved into Unit 1, located at the park entrance, with customers already collecting orders from there.

I’Anson managing director Chris I’Anson, said: “The new distribution centre is an important part of our continued focus on quality and service. It will make for more efficient turnaround times and help keep our trade customers well-stocked. Being just off the A1, it’s a highly convenient location for customers.”

The new A1M50 Industrial and Distribution Park is an extension of the Melmerby Industrial Estate, which is owned and operated by Potter Group, also a Yorkshire-based business that shares long connections with I’Anson.

Matthew Lamb, managing director of the Potter Group, commented: “The Potter Group is delighted to confirm this latest letting to I’Anson Brothers Limited within our A1M50 Industrial and Distribution Park.

“This development clearly demonstrates the quality of buildings on offer, coupled with an excellent location and we look forward to a long-term working relationship with Chris and the rest of the team.”
