I’Anson boosts fifth generation with new recruit to the business

Charlie I’Anson

I’Anson Brothers Ltd, the Masham-based animal feed manufacturer, has welcomed another member of its fifth generation to the successful family business. Charlie I’Anson, son of Sales Director, Will I’Anson, and nephew of Managing Director, Chris I’Anson, has followed in his family’s footsteps and joined the North Yorkshire company as a Management Trainee.

Charlie joins the business’s management training programme, having graduated in Business Economics at the University of Reading. He is the second member of the fifth generation to join the business, following his sister, Hattie, who joined the company two years ago.

The first stage of Charlie’s training will see him roll out a new digital warehouse stock tracking system, providing the sales teams with real-time stock level data to enable a more efficient sales process. He will also be working with the grain and raw material procurement team; an integral part of the purchasing of materials and research into new grains and products.

Commenting on Charlie’s appointment, Managing Director, Chris I’Anson, said: “We are very proud to welcome Charlie into the family business. Bringing the fifth generation into the business, and helping them to develop their management skills, is a key part of our ‘2020 Vision’ to deliver a sustainable future for everyone connected to our business.”

Charlie I’Anson commented: “I’m delighted to have joined the family business and I look forward helping it to continue to grow whilst developing my own career. It’s an exciting time to be joining, with significant investment in new technology to ensure we continue to offer our customers market-leading products and customer service.”

Since joining I’Anson in 2017, Charlie’s sister Hattie has worked across many departments and now manages the Golden Paste Company alongside her British Horse feeds sales role.
