I’Anson Brothers Ltd is an independent, fourth and fifth-generation family-owned and managed business, proudly operating from our factory in the historic market town of Masham, North Yorkshire.

Investing in the Future: Dalton Mill
As part of our commitment to innovation and long-term growth, we have recently built a state-of-the-art feed mill at Dalton, near Thirsk.
This facility is one of the most technologically advanced feed mills in the country, designed to increase production capacity, improve efficiency, and reduce environmental impact.
The Dalton mill represents a major investment in the future of British agriculture, enabling us to meet growing demand while maintaining the highest standards of quality and sustainability.

I’Anson Brothers Timeline
16th July 1900 – Christopher I’Anson commenced trading from a small shop on Masham Market place
1920 – The second generation of Kit, Basil, Hugh and Nancy joined the business.
1930 – Purchased the offices of Waterloo House, in Masham Market Place.
1940 – The old Masham water mill was leased as more capacity was needed for grinding.
1941 – A partnership was formed between Kit, Basil, Hugh and Nancy named I’Anson Brothers.
22nd December 1948 – I’Anson Brothers Ltd was formed.
1953 – Kit’s son Derek joins the business, taking the company to be a 3rd generation business.
1960 – The Thorpe Road, Masham site was purchased and the new mill was built.
1975 – Masham Micronized Feeds was created.
1978 – Derek’s son Chris I’Anson joined the firm as the first member of the 4th generation.
1983 – Sarah Richardson (nee I’Anson), joined her brother Chris in the firm.
1986 – Will I’Anson joins his siblings in the business.
1999 – Speedi Beet was created, the first step into the Equine market
2007 – British Horse Feeds was purchased
October 2017 – The first of the 5th generation joined the company, Hattie I’Anson.
2017 – The Golden Paste Company was purchased
September 2019 – Charlie I’Anson joins his sister Hattie in the company.
January 2020 – Kate I’Anson Mackay joins the company.
June 2020 – The land for a new Dalton mill was purchased and the future of the company secured
14th February 2022 – Work to Waterloo House, Dalton commenced.
2024 – Waterloo House Mill is completed
