A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the Waterloo House Farmer’s Open Day.

With over 450 visitors joining us throughout the day, it was fantastic to welcome so many farmers, customers, suppliers, partners, families and friends to Waterloo House. From mill tours and trade stands to great food, conversations and sunshine, the day was a brilliant celebration of the people and partnerships at the heart of British farming.

For those who attended, we hope this blog serves as a great reminder of the day - and for anyone who couldn’t make it, we wanted to share some of the highlights and insights from across the event.

A Look Around Waterloo House Mill

One of the biggest attractions of the day was the opportunity to tour the mill and see behind the scenes at Waterloo House. Visitors were able to learn more about:

History about the build
How feed is manufactured at the mill
The importance of quality control and nutritional consistency
Ingredient sourcing and formulation
The technology and processes involved in modern feed production
Operational improvements across the site

Members of the I’Anson team were stationed throughout the tour to answer questions and explain the different stages of production, giving visitors a closer look at the work that goes into producing feed for farms across the UK. We would like to give a big thankyou to our 5 speakers:

As a family business, opportunities like this are incredibly important to us. The Open Day gave our wider team the chance to meet many of the farmers and customers we work with every day, strengthening relationships and sharing knowledge across the industry.

Whether chatting over lunch, discussing livestock nutrition, or catching up with familiar faces, the atmosphere throughout the day reflected the strong sense of community within agriculture.

Yorkshire Air Ambulance Helicopter Landing

A real highlight of the afternoon was welcoming the Yorkshire Air Ambulance team to Waterloo House. Many visitors gathered to watch the helicopter land - a memorable moment that brought the whole event together.

The Yorkshire Air Ambulance team spent time speaking with visitors about the vital work they do across Yorkshire’s rural communities, helping raise awareness and support for an incredibly important charity.
